Short answer: most AI interior design tools do not keep your furniture. It is the single most common complaint in their app-store reviews. Tools built on unconstrained image generation redraw the whole scene, so your sofa becomes a sofa: same general idea, different object, often in a different place.
Why most tools replace your furniture
Image models are trained to produce plausible rooms, not your room. Given a photo and a style keyword, the easiest path to a beautiful output is to re-imagine everything. That is exactly what users describe in reviews: "I asked it to decorate, and it replaced all my furniture," or "this can't help you with any items you currently have."
Keeping furniture is harder than replacing it. It requires image editing (not generation from scratch) plus explicit constraints that survive the model's urge to redecorate.
How furniture-preserving rendering works
